St. Croix State Park Group Camp consists of two historic group centers within Minnesota's largest state park, encompassing over 34,000 acres of forests, prairie, and river shoreline. Head of the Rapids Group Center sleeps up to 125 people across 10 rustic cabins organized into two villages, each with its own bathroom and shower building. Norway Point Group Center is the larger facility, accommodating 236 people in 28 cabins spread across three villages. Both centers were constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1938-1939 and feature dining halls with commercial kitchens equipped with gas stoves, walk-in coolers, freezers, refrigerators, and dishwashers. Additional amenities include craft buildings with workbenches, ball fields, sand volleyball courts, swimming beaches on the St. Croix River, fire rings, and large grills. The cabins are rustic with no electricity or heat, designed for group camping experiences. Reservations must be made directly with the park up to one year in advance by calling 320-280-7881. Free naturalist programs are available for groups of 10 or more. Check-in is at 3 p.m. and checkout is at 1 p.m., with groups responsible for cleaning before departure. Only ADA-defined service animals are permitted in buildings.

Directions

From Hinckley, Minnesota, drive east on Highway 48 for approximately 15 miles. Turn south onto County Road 22 and continue for about 5 miles to reach the park entrance.
