About

St. Francois State Park Campground sits in the forested ridges and cool hollows of the Missouri Ozarks near Bonne Terre, offering 110 campsites with a variety of configurations. The campground includes 63 sites with 30 amp electric hookups and water, with 28 pull-through sites available. Basic non-electric sites are also offered, along with special-use camping areas and backcountry camping options on the Pike Run Trail. Modern amenities include hot showers, restrooms, laundry facilities, and a dump station. The park provides easy access to the Big River for canoeing, floating, and fishing for bass, bluegill, and catfish. Three hiking trails wind through the wooded hills and glades of the Coonville Creek Wild Area, with equestrian access on select trails. Rock climbing and rappelling are permitted with a permit. The campground serves as a base for exploring over 160 picnic sites throughout the park, two covered shelters, and swimming areas along the river. Reservations can be made up to 12 months in advance through the Missouri State Parks system online or by calling toll-free. The fully reservable campground may have walk-up sites available if not reserved. Campers should note that water is not available during the off-season from November through March, and park gates close at 10 p.m. during on-season and 6 p.m. during off-season.

Directions

St. Francois State Park is located approximately 5 miles north of Bonne Terre, Missouri, along US Highway 67. From the highway, take the park exit and follow the signs to the campground.
