About
St. Joe State Park's Equestrian Campground (Campground 2) provides a dedicated camping area for horse enthusiasts and non-ORV campers looking to explore the park's extensive trail system. The campground offers both basic and electric campsites with 20 and 30-amp electrical service. Each site features a hitching post, parking pad, picnic table, grill, and lantern post. Vault toilets and frost-free water hydrants are located within the campground. The park encompasses over 8,200 acres of former lead mining land that has been reclaimed into a diverse recreational area. Equestrian campers have access to 28 miles of dedicated horse trails winding through Ozark hills and forests. Non-equestrian campers are welcome to reserve sites here as an alternative to the ORV-focused Campground 1. Showers and the dump station are located at Campground 1 but are accessible to all registered campers. Access to Campground 2 requires a gate code provided with your reservation confirmation. The campground operates year-round, though water systems are seasonal from April 1 through October 31. A two-night minimum stay applies on weekends, and camping is limited to 15 days within any 30-consecutive-day period.
