About

Hawn State Park's picnic shelter provides a scenic outdoor gathering space beneath stately pine trees in one of Missouri's most significant landscapes. The open shelter accommodates approximately 100 people and includes picnic tables and an outdoor barbecue grill, making it ideal for group events and gatherings. Vault toilet facilities and water are located nearby for visitor convenience, though the shelter itself does not have electricity. The shelter can be reserved up to 12 months in advance through the Missouri State Parks online reservation system for $50 per day. Reservations for dates within 30 days must be made by contacting the park office directly. If not reserved, the shelter is available on a first-come, first-served basis at no charge. Hawn State Park is located in western Ste. Genevieve County and features 4,956 acres of hills covered with pine and oak trees, sandy-bottom streams, and sandstone canyons and cliffs. The park offers extensive hiking trails, camping, and picnicking opportunities in a peaceful natural setting that is considered one of the most scenic in Missouri.
