Hawn State Park Campground
Open year-round. Showers and water are available April 1 through October 31; during off-season, water is accessible at a frost-free spigot behind campsite 41. Park gates close at 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Camping limited to 15 days within any 30-consecutive-day period. Reservations available up to 12 months in advance.
About
Hawn State Park Campground is located in the heart of the Missouri Ozarks in western Ste. Genevieve County, offering campers a retreat among hills of stately pine and oak trees. The campground provides both basic and electric campsites, plus five walk-in sites reserved exclusively for tent camping. Each site features a picnic table and fire ring, set beneath a canopy of towering pines that create a peaceful woodland atmosphere. The campground includes modern amenities such as showerhouses with restrooms, laundry facilities, running water via frost-free spigots, and a dump station for RV campers. A playground and amphitheater provide additional recreation options. During the off-season (November through March), water remains available at a frost-free spigot behind campsite 41, though showers operate only from April 1 through October 31. Beyond the campground, the 4,956-acre park features sandy-bottom streams, sandstone canyons and cliffs, and scenic overlooks. Hikers can explore trails ranging from short walks to the challenging 10-mile backpacking route, with backcountry camping available along designated trails.
