About
Hawn State Park's backcountry camping provides an immersive wilderness experience in the scenic eastern Ozark sandstone country. The park offers 10 designated primitive backcountry campsites located along the Whispering Pine Trail loops and White Connector 3, available for advance and same-day reservations year-round through the Missouri State Parks reservation system. Backcountry sites accommodate a maximum of seven campers per site, with rates of $10 per night. Reservations can be made online at icampmo.com or by calling the reservation center. The online system includes interactive maps and photos to help visitors select their preferred site. Same-day reservations are available without the reservation fee when inventory is available. The backcountry camping experience at Hawn emphasizes Leave No Trace principles in this fragile ecosystem. Campfires are prohibited at backcountry sites to minimize environmental impact from fire rings and wood gathering. Campers should be prepared for primitive conditions in a beautiful setting characterized by sandstone glades, lofty pines, and scenic creek valleys.
