About
Spring Campground is an intimate Forest Service campground nestled along the Left Hand Fork of the Blacksmith Fork River in Blacksmith Fork Canyon. Located approximately 12 miles from Hyrum, Utah, at an elevation of 6,000 feet within the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest, this small facility offers just three single campsites in a peaceful mountain setting. The campground is shaded by mature maple trees that provide relief from summer heat and stunning fall colors. Wildflowers and native grasses dot the landscape during summer months. Each campsite includes a picnic table and fire ring, with vault toilets available but no water on-site. Campers must bring all water needed for their stay. Recreational opportunities abound in the area. The Richards Hollow Trail begins nearby, offering excellent hiking and mountain biking through mountain terrain. The Left Hand Fork provides quality fishing for wild brown, cutthroat, and rainbow trout. The nearby Shoshone ATV Trail System attracts off-road enthusiasts. The campground enforces a 7-day stay limit and operates with 2-night minimum stays on weekends and 3-night minimums on holiday weekends. Gates open at 7 a.m. and close at 10 p.m. daily.
