Closed — Closed for winter. Operating season runs from mid-May through early September. Reservations available through Recreation.gov starting 5 days in advance with a 2-night minimum on weekends and 3-night minimum on holiday weekends.

About

Friendship Campground is located about 15 miles from Hyrum, Utah, in the mountains of Blacksmith Fork Canyon at an elevation of 5,600 feet. This small, intimate campground features 5 single family sites and 1 group site that accommodates up to 25 people, all nestled under a canopy of shady maple trees that provide welcome relief from summer heat. Grasses and wildflowers dot the landscape, adding color in the warmer months. The campground serves as a base for numerous recreational activities. Richards Hollow Trail begins just outside the campground, offering excellent opportunities for hiking and mountain biking. Left Hand Fork provides quality fishing for wild brown, cutthroat, and rainbow trout. The nearby Shoshone ATV Trail System attracts off-road enthusiasts. The campground is accessed via a rough 4.5-mile dirt road from Left Hand Fork, requiring high clearance vehicles and potentially four-wheel drive. Logan Canyon National Scenic Byway is within reasonable driving distance, offering 500 million years of geologic history and spectacular autumn colors.

Directions

From Hyrum, Utah, travel approximately 9 miles east up paved Blacksmith Fork Canyon (Highway 101), then turn left at Left Hand Fork (Forest Road 245) and travel 4.5 miles on a rough dirt road to the campground. High clearance four-wheel drive vehicles recommended. The group area is the first site on the left as you enter the campground.
