This is a day-use picnic area only; overnight camping is not permitted. Gates are open 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily. Sites are available first-come, first-served.
About
Chokecherry Picnic Area is a day-use facility located in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest along scenic Logan Canyon at an elevation of 5,400 feet. Situated on the banks of the Logan River approximately 10.1 miles east of Logan, Utah, the site provides a pleasant riverside setting where the sounds of the river create a relaxing atmosphere. The picnic area features 4 individual sites, each with a picnic table and fire ring. Vault restroom facilities are available on-site. The Logan River offers opportunities for fishing, tubing, and canoeing, while numerous hiking and mountain biking trails crisscross the surrounding area. This is a day-use only facility with no overnight camping permitted. Gates are open from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily. The area is in bear country, so visitors must properly secure all food and trash. Pets are allowed but must be kept on a leash no longer than six feet, with a maximum of two dogs per site.
Directions
From Logan, Utah, travel east on US Highway 89 through Logan Canyon for approximately 10 miles. The picnic area is located on the banks of the Logan River.
