About

Shenoah Picnic Area sits on the banks of the Blacksmith Fork River in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest, surrounded by rugged hills shaded by black willow and box elder trees. Located about 9 miles from Hyrum, Utah at an elevation of 5,600 feet, this facility offers both day-use picnicking and overnight group camping. The area consists of 9 individual picnic sites that can be reserved together as a group site for overnight camping, accommodating up to 50 people. When not reserved, individual sites are available first-come, first-served for day use until noon. Facilities include vault toilets, picnic tables, and Forest Service-constructed fire rings. Popular activities include hiking, fishing in the Blacksmith Fork River, mountain biking on the nearby Great Western Trail, and exploring off-road trails. Gates are open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Reservations for the group site are made through Recreation.gov.
