About

Sprague Creek Campground is located on the northeast shore of Lake McDonald, approximately 9.5 miles from the West Entrance along Going-to-the-Sun Road in Glacier National Park. This small, intimate campground features 25 reservable sites nestled within a heavily forested setting that provides ample shade during warm summer days. Some sites near the shore offer unobstructed views of Lake McDonald. The campground is designed for small-footprint camping with strict vehicle restrictions: all vehicles and combinations of vehicles and towed units are limited to 21 feet in length (including bumpers) and 8 feet in width (including mirrors). No towed units of any size are permitted, and generator use is prohibited at all times. Each site can accommodate up to eight people, two vehicles where space allows, and a maximum of two tents. Sites include picnic tables and fire rings but do not have fire grates for grilling. Sprague Creek provides access to Glacier's free shuttle service along Going-to-the-Sun Road. The historic Lake McDonald Lodge is approximately one mile away, offering amenities including a camp store, restaurant, gift shop, boat tours, horse rides, and evening ranger programs. The campground operates in bear country, and food storage regulations are strictly enforced with bear-proof lockers provided near restroom facilities.
