About

Emery Creek Dispersed Pullout is a primitive dispersed camping area located on Flathead National Forest land along forest roads west of Hungry Horse Reservoir. This free camping option sits high in the northern Rocky Mountains, less than 30 miles from the Continental Divide and roughly 15 miles from Glacier National Park. As undeveloped dispersed camping, no amenities are provided. There is no potable water, no toilets, and no trash service. Campers must pack out all garbage and practice Leave No Trace principles. Human waste should be buried in catholes 6-8 inches deep and at least 200 feet from water sources. All toilet paper must be packed out. Campfires are permitted in existing fire rings when no fire restrictions are in effect. Campers should check current fire danger conditions before building any fire. The maximum stay on Flathead National Forest is 16 days, after which you must move at least 5 miles away and cannot return to the original site for 7 days. Food must be stored properly per forest food storage orders.
