About
Emery Bay Campground is located on the massive Hungry Horse Reservoir in Flathead National Forest, high in the Rocky Mountains of northwest Montana. The reservoir, created by the 10th highest dam in the United States, provides a stunning backdrop for camping. The campground sits less than 30 miles from the Continental Divide and just 15 miles southwest of Glacier National Park's West Glacier entrance. The campground features 26 sites total: 16 reservable sites, 10 walk-up first-come-first-served sites, and 2 group camping areas that can accommodate up to 75 guests each. Each site is equipped with a picnic table, fire ring with grill, and food storage. Vault toilets are provided throughout. Drinking water is available from a hand pump after June 15. The maximum trailer length is 32 feet. Boating is popular on the 27,750-acre reservoir, with a native boat ramp available for smaller watercraft. Anglers can expect cutthroat trout and other species. Swimming and hiking are also popular activities. The area offers big game hunting opportunities in season. A campground host is on-site during the operating season.
