About

Emery CR Dispersed North is a dispersed camping area situated along Emery Creek in the Flathead National Forest, part of Montana's northern Rocky Mountains. The area lies in the Hungry Horse Ranger District, with the Hungry Horse Reservoir and Glacier National Park nearby to the northeast. As with all dispersed camping on the Flathead National Forest, this is primitive backcountry camping with no developed amenities. Campers must bring their own drinking water and pack out all trash. A 16-day maximum stay limit applies. Visitors should follow current fire restrictions, use existing fire rings where available, and properly store food to avoid bear encounters. Access is typically via forest roads in the area. Road conditions can vary seasonally, and high-clearance vehicles may be advisable. Check the Flathead National Forest Motor Vehicle Use Map for current road designations and access information.

Directions

From Martin City, Montana, turn off Highway 2 and continue on the main road through the town heading south. This road becomes East Side Reservoir Road. Continue for about 6 miles into the campground.
