This is a day-use special event area, not an overnight campground. Accessible 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. with a valid reservation. Contact the lake office at least two weeks prior at 903-838-8781 to obtain the gate code and any required permits.

About
Sportsman's Cove Special Event Area is located in the former Mallard Bay/Intake Hill area on Wright Patman Lake near Texarkana, Texas. Managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, this facility caters to fishing tournaments, family reunions, and other large-scale gatherings rather than overnight camping. The centerpiece is a 60' x 60' covered pavilion equipped with lights, electrical outlets, and access to potable water. Ten picnic tables and a grill are provided for group use. The air-conditioned restroom building includes showers. A paved parking lot and concrete boat ramp provide lake access for anglers. The area is accessible from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. with a valid reservation. Reservations must be made at least two weeks in advance by calling the lake office to obtain the gate code and determine if a Special Event Permit is required. Wright Patman Lake offers excellent fishing for bass, catfish, crappie, and sunfish.

From Texarkana, TX, take US-59 south to Wright Patman Lake. Follow signs to the Sportsman's Cove Special Event Area, located in the old Mallard Bay/Intake Hill area. The area is accessible from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
