About

North Shore Park is the largest day-use area on Wright Patman Lake, a 30,000-acre reservoir set amidst the piney woods of northeast Texas. The park provides extensive recreational amenities without overnight camping facilities. Visitors enjoy a sandy swimming beach, accessible boat ramp and dock, and a fishing pier for bass, catfish, crappie, and sunfish. The park features 60 first-come, first-served picnic sites with tables and upright grills, plus one reservable group picnic shelter accommodating up to 30 people located near the restrooms and beach. Recreational facilities include three volleyball courts, a basketball court, horseshoe pits, playground, tether ball area, and covered benches. The park overlooks the lake from a thick forest on the sandy shoreline. The surrounding 55,000 acres of public forestland managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers provides habitat for wild turkey, white-tailed deer, waterfowl, and migrating bald eagles and pelicans. Clear Springs Campground, located one mile away, offers overnight camping for visitors seeking multi-day stays on Wright Patman Lake.

From Texarkana, take U.S. Highway 59 south approximately 10 miles. Turn right on Farm-to-Market Road 2148 and travel approximately 1.5 miles to the Wright Patman Lake sign. Turn left and follow park signs to the entrance. Physical address: Corps Road 13-A, Texarkana, TX 75501.
