About

Rocky Point Park sits on the shore of 30,000-acre Wright Patman Lake within the piney woods of northeast Texas near Texarkana. This U.S. Army Corps of Engineers campground offers 124 campsites, all featuring hard surface parking pads, water and electric hookups, picnic tables, grills, and utility tables. Fifteen sites include sewer connections, and 41 sites offer 50-amp electric service. The park provides comprehensive facilities including three restroom buildings with hot showers, a trailer dump station, and fish cleaning station. Recreational amenities include a swimming beach, playground, volleyball and basketball courts, an amphitheater with educational programs, and a boat ramp with courtesy dock. Bass, catfish, crappie, and sunfish populate the lake. A 1.3-mile hiking trail connects to nearby Piney Point Campground. The surrounding 55,000 acres of public forestland managed by the Corps provides habitat for wild turkey, white-tailed deer, waterfowl, and migrating bald eagles. Some poisonous snakes inhabit the area.
