Malden Lake Campground

Malden Lake Campground is situated on the shoreline of Wright Patman Lake, a 30,000-acre reservoir managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in the piney woods of northeast Texas. The campground offers 39 sites split between the H and P Loops. The H Loop features pull-through sites accommodating RVs up to 50 feet with 50-amp service, while P Loop sites are back-in with 30-amp service and a 35-foot maximum. All sites include water and electric hookups, picnic tables, grills, utility tables, lantern posts, and trash service. Recreation centers on the lake, with a boat ramp and courtesy dock providing easy water access. Anglers target bass, catfish, crappie, and sunfish. The Corps manages approximately 55,000 acres of public forestland around the lake, creating habitat for wild turkey, bobwhite quail, white-tailed deer, waterfowl, and migrating bald eagles. A trail system behind the H Loop campsites offers walking opportunities. Note that some poisonous snakes inhabit the area. Facilities include a restroom building with showers and a dump station for RV campers. Playgrounds provide family entertainment. The nearby Texarkana region offers shopping, restaurants, and local historical sites, while Shreveport, Louisiana is within easy driving distance.
