About

Malden Lake Campground is situated on the shoreline of Wright Patman Lake, a 30,000-acre reservoir managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in the piney woods of northeast Texas. The campground offers lakefront views and is set among a thick pine forest that provides abundant shade for campers. With 39 campsites available, including 29 sites with water and electric hookups and 10 sites with 50-amp service, the facility accommodates both tent campers and RVers. The campground features comprehensive amenities including restrooms with showers, drinking water, a dump station, boat ramp, picnic tables, fire rings, and trash collection. A trail system behind the H Loop campsites provides opportunities for walking and wildlife viewing. The surrounding 55,000 acres of public forestland managed by the Corps of Engineers serves as habitat for wild turkey, white-tailed deer, squirrel, waterfowl, and migrating bald eagles and pelicans. Wright Patman Lake is popular for fishing, with anglers pursuing bass, catfish, crappie, and sunfish. Boaters enjoy the expansive lake, and the area offers swimming, hiking, and hunting opportunities. The campground is located approximately six miles south of Maud, Texas off Highway 8, with convenient access to Texarkana and the surrounding region.
