About
Beard's Lake Park is a small, quiet U.S. Army Corps of Engineers campground situated on Beard's Lake, an oxbow lake adjacent to the Little River below Millwood Dam in southwest Arkansas. The park provides an excellent base for anglers, with Millwood Lake recognized as one of the top fishing lakes in the country. Some 20,000 acres of submerged timber create exceptional habitat for crappie, largemouth bass, white striped bass, spotted bass, channel catfish, flathead catfish, bluegill, sunfish, and more.
The campground offers 8 campsites total: 5 paved sites with water and electric hookups, plus 3 tent-only non-electric sites. Amenities include flush toilets, a boat ramp, fishing docks, and a fishing pier. Shower facilities and a trailer dump station are located one mile north at the neighboring Beard's Bluff Park, accessible to Beard's Lake campers.
The surrounding landscape features open fields, swampy grasslands, and thick hardwood forests creating one of the most unique and diverse habitats in the southern United States. Duck hunting is popular in season. Note that alligators are present in Beard's Lake, Millwood Lake, and the Little River.
