About

Millwood State Park Campground is located nine miles east of Ashdown along the southern shore of 29,260-acre Millwood Lake. The campground features 45 campsites including 27 Class AAA sites with water, 50-amp electric, and sewer hookups; 2 Class A sites with water and 50-amp electric; 13 Class B sites with water and 30-amp electric; and three primitive tent sites. The camping atmosphere is relaxed and quiet, surrounded by mixed hardwood and pine forest. The park is celebrated as one of Arkansas's premier fishing destinations, with a series of boat lanes winding through submerged timber, marshes, and oxbow cutoffs that create ideal habitat for largemouth bass, catfish, and crappie. Millwood Lake is also designated as an Important Bird Area by the National Audubon Society, with sightings of over 300 of Arkansas's 400 bird species recorded here. A full-service marina operates seasonally, offering boat, canoe, and kayak rentals, plus fishing supplies and groceries. The park includes a self-guided walking trail, bicycle trail, and picnic facilities.
