About

Millwood State Park occupies a prime location on Millwood Lake in Little River County, Arkansas. The 29,500-acre lake, managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, is formed by the Little River about 16 miles upstream from its confluence with the Red River. The park is designated an Audubon Important Bird Area, with over 300 of Arkansas's 400 bird species documented here. The campground features 45 sites across four classifications: 27 Class AAA sites with water, 50-amp electric, and sewer hookups; 2 Class A sites with water and 50-amp electric; 13 Class B sites with water and 30-amp electric; and 3 primitive Class D tent sites. The camping atmosphere is quiet and relaxed, with restrooms open year-round. A self-guided nature trail and bicycle trail wind through the property. Millwood Lake is a premier fishing destination. Boat lanes cut through standing timber lead to marshes providing ideal largemouth bass habitat, while crappie fishing peaks in spring and fall, with catfish and bream abundant in summer. A full-service marina offers boat and kayak rentals, fuel, bait, and supplies.
