About

Piney Point Park occupies a scenic spot within the southern pine forest along Wright Patman Lake, a 30,000-acre reservoir in Cass County, Texas. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers manages the campground and surrounding public lands, which provide habitat for wild turkey, quail, white-tailed deer, waterfowl, and seasonal bald eagles and pelicans. The campground features 45 developed campsites with water and electric hookups, including six sites with 50-amp service for larger RVs. Seven primitive tent sites are available for those seeking a simpler experience. Facilities include a restroom building with showers, a vault toilet, playground, volleyball court, and trailer dump station. A paved boat ramp with courtesy dock provides lake access for fishing and boating. A 1.3-mile nature trail winds through the woods to nearby Rocky Point Campground, where campers can access a swimming beach. Note that Piney Point itself does not have a swim beach. The Texarkana area offers nearby shopping, restaurants, and regional attractions.
