About
Spillway Falls Park is a scenic day-use recreation area managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on Demopolis Lake. The park overlooks the Tombigbee River and features dramatic views of the falls created by the Demopolis Lock and Dam, making it a popular destination for birdwatching and photography. The park offers a 3.5-mile hiking trail system that winds through the area, providing opportunities to explore the natural beauty of the region. Visitors can enjoy individual picnic shelters or rent the large group shelter for $45 per day, which includes seating and parking capacity for gatherings. The park features paved parking, a public boat ramp for water access, and two flush toilet facilities. On-site park hosts are available to manage the facility and control after-hours access. Note that Spillway Falls is a day-use only facility and closes at sunset. Overnight camping is not available at this location. The park prohibits excessive noise, water slides, water balloons, and confetti. All visitors must park in designated areas and are responsible for cleaning up before departure. For those seeking overnight camping in the area, Foscue Creek Campground is located nearby on the same lake system.
