About
Spillway Falls Park is a day-use recreation area managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as part of the Black Warrior and Tombigbee Lakes project in Marengo County, Alabama. The park offers stunning views of the Tombigbee River and the waterfall created by the Demopolis Lock and Dam, making it a popular destination for birdwatching and relaxation. The park features individual picnic shelters and a large group shelter available for day rental at $45 per day. A 3.5-mile hiking trail system winds through the area, and a boat ramp provides river access (day-use pass required). Facilities include paved parking and two flush toilets. On-site park hosts manage after-hours access. This is strictly a day-use facility that closes at sunset. There is no overnight camping permitted at Spillway Falls Park. Visitors seeking overnight accommodations should look to nearby Corps of Engineers campgrounds in the Black Warrior and Tombigbee Lakes system.
Directions
From Demopolis, take US Highway 80 West for approximately 2 miles, then turn onto Lock and Dam Road. Follow signs to Spillway Falls Park.
