About
Foscue Creek Campground is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers facility nestled on the forested shoreline of Demopolis Lake, which offers 10,000 acres of water as part of the Black Warrior-Tombigbee Waterway. The campground features 54 spacious, private campsites situated near or close to the water. Sites 1-10 and 16-54 have full hookups including electric (up to 50 amp), water, and sewer, while the remaining sites offer electric and water only. Each site includes a paved pad, picnic table, lantern holder, and fire ring with grill. The campground provides modern amenities including restrooms with showers, a dump station, and coin-operated laundry facilities. A playground is located in the back loop for families. Fishing is excellent for bass, crappie, bream, and catfish. The boat ramp provides lake access, and the Foscue Creek Nature Trail winds along the shoreline with benches for wildlife viewing and markers for tree identification. The Black Belt region features diverse wildlife including wood ducks, bald eagles, and bluebirds.
Directions
From Demopolis, Alabama, drive three miles west on US Highway 80, and turn right at Maria Street. Go approximately two miles and follow signs to the campground entrance. Do not follow GPS via US Highway 43 South to Jackson Street as it is not conducive for camper/motorhome travel.
