About
Lock 8 Park sits along the Black Warrior River near Akron, Alabama, within the Black Warrior and Tombigbee Lakes system managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District. The park offers water access through its boat ramp, making it popular with anglers and boaters exploring the river. Facilities include a group picnic shelter available for reservation at $25 per day, flush toilets, and paved parking. An artesian well flowing on-site provides a unique natural feature. The park closes at 10:00 p.m. daily and does not offer overnight camping accommodations.
Directions
Located near Akron, Alabama at 6679 County Road 36. From Akron, follow County Road 36 to the park entrance on the Black Warrior River.
