About
Lock 8 Park is a day-use recreation area managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District, located on the scenic banks of the Black Warrior River in Hale County, Alabama. The park provides access to the river through a boat ramp, making it popular with anglers and boaters exploring the Black Warrior River system.
The facility features a group picnic shelter available for reservation at $25 per day, flush toilets, and paved parking areas. An interesting natural feature is an artesian well that flows onsite. The park is designed for day use only and does not offer overnight camping facilities.
Visitors should note that the park closes at 10:00 p.m. daily. Excessive noise, water balloons, and confetti are prohibited. All vehicles must park in designated areas, and groups are responsible for cleaning up after use. The Black Warrior River offers fishing opportunities for bass, crappie, bream, and catfish.
Directions
