About
Lock 6 Park sits on the site of a historic working lock and dam on the Black Warrior River in Hale County, Alabama. Managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District as part of the Black Warrior and Tombigbee Lakes system, the park provides boaters and anglers convenient access to the river via its boat ramp. The facility includes a group shelter available for reservation, making it suitable for family gatherings, picnics, and group events. A pit toilet is conveniently located on the grounds. One distinctive feature is a naturally flowing artesian well on the property. This is a day-use facility only; overnight camping is not available. All visitors using the boat ramp are required to pay a day-use fee. The park closes at 10:00 p.m. Reservations for the group shelter can be made through Recreation.gov, though no refunds are given for cancellations.
Directions
