About

Spearhead Point Campground is located on a small peninsula along the scenic Mondeaux Flowage within the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest in northern Wisconsin. The campground offers 27 family-oriented campsites, each equipped with a parking spur, picnic table, and campfire ring with grill. Many sites are situated directly along the 411-acre flowage shoreline and feature small docks that can be used for fishing or landing boats. The shady sites provide panoramic views of the lake and a peaceful setting at 1,140 feet elevation. The Mondeaux Flowage offers excellent opportunities for boating, swimming, and fishing. Anglers can expect to catch northern pike, largemouth bass, and bluegill, though boaters should note the lake is quite shallow in some areas. Both motorized and non-motorized boats are permitted. A concession stand, coin-operated showers, and boat ramp are available at the nearby Mondeaux Picnic Area. The campground provides convenient access to a portion of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail, which wanders 1,200 miles along the edge of a historic glacier that once covered Wisconsin and much of North America. The nearby Aldo Leopold Trail offers another hiking opportunity. The city of Westboro is approximately 10 miles from the campground.
