About

Lake of the Pines Campground sits within the 91,000-acre Flambeau River State Forest in northern Wisconsin. This rustic family campground features 30 non-electric sites spread across two loops, with the lower loop remaining accessible during heavy snow conditions. Each site provides access to the 273-acre Lake of the Pines, known for its musky, walleye, largemouth bass, and panfish populations. The campground includes two vault toilet buildings, a hand pump providing potable water, and garbage/recycling services. A designated swimming area is easily reached from the sites, and a 0.5-mile nature trail begins at the campground. Boat access to Lake of the Pines allows campers to explore the water directly from camp. The surrounding state forest offers extensive hiking, ATV trails, snowmobile trails, and canoeing on the North and South Forks of the Flambeau River.
