About

North Twin Lake Recreation Area is located in the Medford-Park Falls District of Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest in Taylor County, Wisconsin. The site sits on the shores of 33-acre North Twin Lake, which offers excellent fishing opportunities for walleye, northern pike, largemouth bass, black crappie, perch, and panfish. The lake supports both motorized and non-motorized boating, including kayaking and canoeing. The campground itself has been closed since 2019 and remains closed for camping. However, the boat landing and day-use facilities remain open to the public. Visitors can still access the lake for fishing, boating, ice fishing in winter, and picnicking along the scenic shoreline. The area is accessible via forest roads about 17 miles from Medford. Nearby alternative Forest Service campgrounds include Eastwood, Picnic Point, Spearhead Point, and Westpoint. The surrounding national forest offers extensive opportunities for outdoor recreation in over 1.5 million acres of woodlands and waterways.
