Alcohol Prohibitions

This Order describes acts that are prohibited upon lands, roads and trails within the National Forest System administered by the Forest Service Pacific Northwest Region in regards to alcoholic beverages.

About

Tucked away in the Umpqua Valley of Umpqua National Forest, South Umpqua Falls Campground is an open meadow campground surrounded by timber, offering 19 first-come, first-served campsites. The campground can accommodate RVs, trailers, and tents up to 35 feet in length. Nearby South Umpqua Falls Picnic Area provides access to scenic views of the South Umpqua River cascading 15 feet over a wide bedrock slab. The area is popular for spotting Chinook salmon runs and bald eagles flying overhead. Additional recreation opportunities include hiking and swimming in the South Umpqua River. The campground is located 43 miles east of Canyonville, deep in the Umpqua National Forest on County Road 46. Campers should bring their own drinking water as none is available on-site. Vault toilets are provided. Each campsite includes a picnic table and fire pit. Quiet hours are enforced between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., and stays are limited to 14 consecutive days.

Directions

From Canyonville, turn off southeast Main Street onto southeast 3rd Street/OR-227. Continue on OR-227 for approximately 23 miles until reaching the town of Tiller. Turn left onto County Road 46 (South Umpqua Road 28) and continue for 20 miles. The campground is on the left side of the road.
