About
Skillet Creek Campground is a primitive, free campground tucked along the upper South Umpqua River in the Tiller Ranger District of Umpqua National Forest. With just two campsites, it offers a quiet, secluded camping experience for those seeking to escape the crowds. The campground provides easy access to the river for swimming and cooling off during warm summer days. It sits near the popular South Umpqua Falls Day Use Area, making it a convenient base for exploring the falls and surrounding forest trails. Facilities are basic: vault toilets are available, but there is no potable water, no trash service, and no fees. Campers should come prepared to be self-sufficient, bringing all drinking water and packing out all garbage. The small site count and rustic nature make this best suited for tent camping or small vehicles rather than large RVs.
