About

Skookum Pond Campground offers a secluded camping experience near Skookum Pond, a small man-made pond in the Tiller Ranger District of Umpqua National Forest. Two campsites are nestled in a stand of mixed conifers along the shoreline, providing a quiet setting away from more developed recreation areas. The campground is free and operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations accepted. Anglers can cast a line from the shore while enjoying the surrounding forest scenery. Basic amenities include a vault toilet, but campers must bring their own drinking water and pack out all trash. Access requires a lengthy drive on forest roads, with the final approach on spur roads. The maximum vehicle length is 22 feet, making this site suitable for smaller RVs, vans, and tent camping but not large motorhomes or trailers. Dogs are allowed but must be leashed during the day and confined at night.
