About

Built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1937, Barnwell State Park Campground preserves the classic stonework and traditional design of Depression-era state parks. The 25-site campground features packed gravel sites with individual water and electrical hookups. Sites 18-25 offer upgraded 50-amp electrical service and full sewer hookups, while four sites can accommodate RVs up to 36 feet and others up to 28 feet. A modern restroom facility with hot showers and a dump station serve the campground. The park's 307 acres include three small lakes that attract anglers seeking crappie, bream, bass, and catfish. A 1.5-mile nature trail with boardwalk sections provides close encounters with the water and wildlife, passing by a historic spillway. The park also features a primitive group camping area for organized groups up to 50 people. Camping clubs may reserve up to 20 sites, making this a popular destination for group outings.
