About

Barnwell State Park is one of 16 South Carolina state parks built by the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Great Depression and remains best known for its excellent fishing opportunities. The 307-acre park features three lakes surrounded by pine and hardwood forest, with the campground positioned a short walk from the water. The campground offers 25 sites split between 17 standard sites with water and 30-amp electric hookups and eight full-hookup sites (sites 18-25) featuring 50-amp electric service and sewer connections. All sites are packed gravel with nearby restroom facilities and hot showers. A dump station serves RV campers. Four sites can accommodate RVs up to 36 feet; the rest handle units up to 28 feet. Beyond camping, the park offers two 1.5-mile nature trails, non-motorized boat rentals, four picnic shelters, and a community building. Pets are welcome in outdoor areas on a leash no longer than six feet.
