About

Colleton State Park provides a Lowcountry camping experience on the banks of the Edisto River, one of the longest free-flowing blackwater rivers in the United States. Located just off I-95 near Walterboro, the park serves as headquarters for the Edisto River canoe and kayak trail, making it an ideal base for paddlers exploring the 56-mile water trail that connects to Givhans Ferry State Park. The campground features 25 full-hookup sites with individual water, electric (20/30/50 amp), and sewer connections. Sites are packed sand with paved access roads, and some accommodate RVs up to 40 feet while others max out at 25 feet. The campground includes restrooms with hot showers, Wi-Fi access near the bathhouse that covers most sites, and a dump station. A primitive group camping area accommodates up to 50 people with picnic tables, fire rings, and nearby restroom access. Beyond camping, the park offers the Cypress Swamp Nature Trail with a river boardwalk, a play field, picnic shelters, and an EV charging station. The park also has one camper cabin with air conditioning and a refrigerator for those preferring more amenities.
