Sleepy Hollow State Park Campground
Open — The modern campground and shelters are closed through June 1, 2026 for renovations including replacement of toilet and shower buildings, paving of campground roads, and beach building updates. The rustic cabin and modern cabin remain open for winter camping.
About
Sleepy Hollow State Park encompasses 2,678 acres of scenic beauty in Clinton County, centered around the 410-acre Lake Ovid. The park's modern campground features 181 spacious, wooded campsites divided into two loops (100 sites in the north loop, 81 in the south loop), each with asphalt or concrete pads and natural privacy from surrounding shrubs. Modern amenities include flush toilets, showers, electrical hookups, and a sanitation station. Outdoor enthusiasts will find diverse recreational opportunities including 12 miles of equestrian trails maintained by the Sleepy Hollow Trail Riders Association, with a staging area and equestrian-friendly cabins. Lake Ovid is a no-wake lake popular with paddlers, featuring a boat launch, kayak launch, and four fishing piers. The lake supports a diverse fishery including muskie, largemouth and smallmouth bass, bluegill, crappie, and catfish. Additional amenities include an 18-hole disc golf course, three picnic shelters, paddlesport rentals, and a designated swim beach with a beach house. The park offers two cabins for overnight stays: a modern two-bedroom cabin with kitchenette and bathroom sleeping six, and a rustic solar-powered cabin sleeping five with a propane heater. Both cabins are pet and equine-friendly. A group campground accommodates up to 100 people for tent camping. Located just 20 minutes north of Lansing and 6 miles from downtown Laingsburg, the park provides convenient access to outdoor recreation year-round.
