About
Falcon Creek Campground is a primitive single-site campground located in a remote section of the Umpqua National Forest along upper Jackson Creek. The site is tucked into a quiet stand of old growth Douglas fir trees above Falcon Creek, a tributary stream in the South Umpqua watershed. This free campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis and offers a secluded backcountry camping experience for those willing to navigate the forest road system to reach it. The campground provides basic amenities including a vault toilet and a picnic table, but no potable water or garbage service. Campers must bring their own water and pack out all trash. A fire pit is available for campfires when conditions permit. Access requires traveling forest roads for many miles beyond the town of Tiller, making this a true backcountry destination. The maximum vehicle length is 22 feet due to the limited site size and forest road conditions. With only one campsite, Falcon Creek offers exceptional solitude and a genuine primitive camping experience surrounded by old growth forest. The location provides opportunities for hiking and exploring the upper Jackson Creek drainage. Standard Forest Service regulations apply, including a 14-day maximum stay and quiet hours from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
