Closed — Closed for the season. The campground operates from April through Labor Day weekend. Day use areas open 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. when the park is operational.

About

Six Mile Creek Campground is nestled along its namesake creek at scenic Dannelly Reservoir in Alabama's Black Prairie Belt, a region characterized by rich, dark soils and a mosaic of rolling grasslands and dense hardwood and pine forests. The reservoir sits on the Alabama River and covers approximately 27 square miles with more than 500 miles of shoreline, creating an expansive waterfront recreation area. The campground offers 31 family campsites, all equipped with electric hookups. Modern amenities include flush toilets, hot showers, drinking water, a dump station, and a boat dock for easy water access. The peaceful waterfront setting makes it an ideal base camp for anglers, boaters, and hunters alike. The creek and reservoir provide excellent fishing opportunities for bass, crappie, bluegill, and catfish, with numerous fishing tournaments and annual festivals held in the area. Whitetail deer and wild turkeys inhabit the surrounding forests, offering quality bow-hunting experiences during appropriate seasons. Boating and hiking are also popular activities, taking advantage of the extensive shoreline and surrounding natural areas.

Directions

From Selma, Alabama, follow US-41 south for 9 miles. Turn right on County Road 139 and follow the signs into the campground.
