About

Six Mile Creek Campground sits on its namesake creek at Dannelly Reservoir, part of the Alabama River Lakes system managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The reservoir covers roughly 27 square miles with more than 500 miles of shoreline, set within Alabama's Black Prairie Belt, characterized by rich dark soils and a mosaic of rolling grasslands interspersed with dense hardwood and pine forests. The campground features 31 family campsites, all equipped with 50-amp electric hookups, water hookups, fire pits, picnic tables, and lantern poles. Centralized amenities include flush toilets, hot showers, potable water, and an RV dump station. A boat dock provides direct reservoir access for anglers and boaters. Fishing is a primary draw, with the creek and reservoir offering excellent opportunities for bass, crappie, bluegill, and catfish. Numerous fishing tournaments and annual festivals are held in the immediate area. Whitetail deer and wild turkeys roam the surrounding area, creating bow-hunting opportunities during appropriate seasons.
