About

Elm Bluff Campground is a rustic camping facility managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, located on a scenic bluff above the Alabama River in Dallas County, Alabama. This primitive campground offers a peaceful retreat for campers seeking a more basic outdoor experience along the river. The campground features 11 standard nonelectric campsites with potable water available on-site, but no electrical hookups or power. The remote location provides a quiet escape, though campers should be aware that cell service is limited in the area. The campground sits on a beautiful stretch of the Alabama River, making it an ideal spot for fishing, paddling, and wildlife observation. Reservations must be made in advance through Recreation.gov, as the honor box payment system has been discontinued. The campground is part of the Alabama River Lakes system and offers basic amenities for tent and RV camping, though campers should come prepared for rustic conditions.
