About

Paul Grist State Park is located on a peaceful 1,080-acre lake surrounded by southern pines and hardwoods near Selma, Alabama. The park offers 11 modern RV campsites equipped with water, sewer, and 30/50-amp electrical hookups, each positioned to overlook the lake. For those preferring a more rustic experience, primitive tent camping sites are available at a lower rate. An ADA-accessible bathhouse is located near the campground and cleaned daily. Beyond camping, the park provides extensive recreational opportunities including 15-20 miles of hiking and horseback riding trails winding through the wooded landscape. The lake supports fishing for bass and bream, with boat rentals available on-site. A swimming beach offers warm-weather recreation, while picnic pavilions with barbecue grills accommodate day-use visitors and group gatherings. Reservations are made directly through the park office rather than Recreation.gov. Senior citizens (62+) and those with 100% disability status receive a 15% discount on camping fees, excluding holiday weekends.
