Holy Ground Shelters provides group shelter rentals within Holy Ground Battlefield Park, a scenic day-use recreation area operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers along the Alabama River in Lowndes County. The facility features three group shelters with electric and water hookups, each accommodating large gatherings and events. The park offers diverse recreational opportunities including bank fishing along the Alabama River, swimming at the beach area, hiking trails, and multiple picnic sites. On-site amenities include restrooms and a shower house. The park has historical significance as the site of the 1813 Battle of Holy Ground during the Creek War, with interpretive trails and archaeological remnants of the historic village. Shelters must be reserved in advance through Recreation.gov. The park operates seasonally from April through early September, with gates open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Alcohol is not permitted in the park, and activities beyond routine picnics require a special events permit. All shelter rentals are non-refundable.
