About

Bridgeport Beach is located on the William "Bill" Dannelly section of the Alabama River, approximately 4 miles northeast of Camden in Wilcox County. Managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District, this seasonal recreation area provides a family-friendly beach experience with a designated swimming area, sandy shoreline, and scenic views of the reservoir. The facility offers a large covered pavilion available for group picnicking with panoramic views of the water, along with numerous picnic tables scattered throughout a well-maintained grassy lawn. The beach area provides a relaxing setting for swimming and wading during the summer season. The park's location on the Alabama River Lakes system makes it a popular destination for locals and visitors looking to enjoy water-based recreation in south-central Alabama. Bridgeport Beach operates seasonally from April through early September, with the facility closed during fall, winter, and early spring months. The area provides basic day-use amenities focused on picnicking and beach access.
