Roland Cooper State Park is a tranquil retreat on the Alabama River near Camden in Wilcox County. The park caters to both RV campers and tent enthusiasts, with 41 improved campsites featuring full hookups including water, 30-amp and 50-amp electric, and sewer connections. Each improved site includes a picnic table and fire pit, with dump stations, trash containers, and a bathhouse with showers conveniently nearby. For those seeking a more rustic experience, 14 primitive camping sites offer picnic tables and fire rings with access to a nearby restroom, though these sites have no utility connections. The park's location on the Alabama River makes it popular with anglers, offering a free boat launch for overnight guests, fishing piers, and fish cleaning stations. Quiet hours are enforced from 10 PM to 6 AM. The park also features furnished cabins ranging from studio primitives to two-bedroom options, including one ADA-compliant tiny cabin. Pets are welcome throughout the park with leash requirements and applicable fees. Reservations can be made online through reserve.alapark.com up to one year in advance.
