About

Silverwood Lake State Recreation Area's Mesa Campground offers diverse camping options along the shores of a 976-acre reservoir in the San Bernardino Mountains. The Old Mesa Campground features 95 standard non-hookup sites plus 5 hike-and-bike sites, while the adjacent New Mesa Campground provides 40 full-hookup RV sites with electric (20/30/50-amp), water, and sewer connections. Both areas are equipped with flush toilets, coin-operated showers, drinking water spigots, picnic tables, and fire rings. The campground provides convenient access to the lake's recreational opportunities including fishing for trout, largemouth bass, striped bass, and catfish. Swimming beaches, boat launches, and multi-use trails are nearby. The Cleghorn Hike and Bike Trail connects the campground areas with a paved, accessible path. Bear activity is common in the campground area, and visitors should properly store food in vehicles or bear-proof containers. Dogs are permitted in the campground but are not allowed on beaches or in the water. Reservations are available through ReserveCalifornia.com up to six months in advance.
