About
Applewhite Campground is located three miles north of the Lytle Creek Ranger Station in San Bernardino National Forest, providing a convenient mountain escape. The campground features tree-surrounded campsites with paved parking aprons across the street from Lytle Creek, where visitors can relax and cool off in the flowing waters. The area offers ample opportunities for day hikes in Lytle Creek and OHV recreation in the nearby Cajon Pass area. The campground includes dozens of single-family campsites arranged in upper and lower loops, primarily designed for tent camping though some sites can accommodate RVs without hookups. Each site is equipped with a table and campfire ring with grill. Accessible flush toilets and water spigots are provided throughout the campground. Sites have narrow paved parking aprons, limiting suitability for larger rigs. Applewhite Campground operates with reservations through Recreation.gov. There is a maximum of eight people and two vehicles per site, with a $5 additional vehicle fee for second vehicles. Quiet hours are enforced from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Pets are allowed on leash, and all vehicles must remain on paved surfaces within campsites.
