Silver Strand State Beach Campground offers a distinctive coastal camping experience on the narrow sand spit between Coronado and Imperial Beach, providing access to both Pacific Ocean beaches and the calmer waters of San Diego Bay. The campground is restricted to fully self-contained RVs, motorhomes, and trailers with running water systems and flushable toilets with holding tanks. Sites are arranged in rows, with premium oceanfront Beach Row sites offering direct views of waves crashing on the shore, while more affordable Inland Row sites are set back from the water. The campground features over 120 asphalt sites with water and electric hookups but no sewer connections. A dump station is available on-site. Maximum vehicle length is 40 feet for both RVs and trailers. The facility operates year-round with nightly gate closures for security. Campground hosts are on-site 24 hours, and gates close between 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM depending on season, opening again at 7:00 AM. Campers enjoy access to 2.5 miles of Pacific Ocean beach and 0.5 mile of San Diego Bay shoreline. Three pedestrian tunnels connect the campground to the bay side, where the water is typically warmer and calmer. Popular activities include swimming, surfing, fishing for perch and corbina, boating, water-skiing, and beachcombing. Restrooms with cold showers are available. Dogs are permitted in the campground and parking areas but not on the beach. The mild San Diego climate makes this a year-round destination, with reservations available up to six months in advance through ReserveCalifornia.

Located 4.5 miles south of Coronado on Highway 75. The park sits on the sand spit between the Pacific Ocean and San Diego Bay. The entrance is directly off Highway 75.
