About

Green Valley Horse Camp is a specialized equestrian campground located within the Green Valley Campground area of Cuyamaca Rancho State Park, situated at 4,000 feet elevation in the Cuyamaca Mountains. The horse camp features 15 family equestrian campsites designed to accommodate up to 8 people and two horses per site, with corrals provided for your animals. Two sites are ADA-accessible to ensure all visitors can enjoy the facilities. The campground provides essential amenities including pay showers, potable water, camp furniture with picnic tables and fire rings at each site. A dump station is available in the Green Valley Campground area. From the horse camp, riders have direct access to the Monument Trail and Arroyo Seco Fire Road, as well as the park's extensive network of over 100 miles of equestrian trails through oak woodlands, pine forests, and scenic meadows. The park encompasses 24,677 acres of diverse terrain in San Diego County, offering spectacular views and riding opportunities through varied landscapes. Green Valley Creek runs through the middle of the campground area, and the day use section features cascades and pools. Dogs are permitted in the campground but must be leashed and are not allowed on trails. The horse camp operates seasonally and is closed from December through March due to inclement weather and trail conditions.

East of San Diego on Highway 79, five miles north of Interstate 8. The horse camp is located within the Green Valley Campground area of Cuyamaca Rancho State Park.
