Green Valley Campground

Open

Open for the season. Vehicle access runs April 1 through November 30. The campground closes to vehicles December 1 through March 31, though walk-in or hike-in camping remains available via highway turnouts during the off-season.

About

Green Valley Campground occupies a scenic valley at 4,000 feet in the Cuyamaca Mountains, roughly 15 miles south of Julian off Highway 79. A creek bisects the campground, creating a more riparian feel than the neighboring Paso Picacho camp. The day-use area adjacent to camp offers cascades and shallow pools ideal for cooling off during warm weather. The campground has 81 family sites plus 15 equestrian sites (sites 1-15) with corrals. Each site includes a fire ring, picnic table, and food locker. Restroom buildings with flush toilets and pay showers are centrally located, with water faucets distributed every few sites. A dump station serves RV campers. Firewood and ice are available for purchase on-site. Four main-campground sites and two equestrian sites are ADA accessible. Dogs are permitted in the campground, picnic areas, paved roads, and Cuyamaca Peak Fire Road but must be leashed and attended at all times. Interpretive programs run during summer months. Reservations are handled through ReserveCalifornia.
