About

South Carlsbad State Beach offers one of Southern California's premier oceanfront camping experiences. The campground sits atop coastal bluffs with sweeping Pacific Ocean views, with Park Road dividing the sites into Oceanfront (premium) and Inland sections. The 223 campsites accommodate tents, trailers, and motorhomes up to 35 feet, with select sites offering electric and water hookups. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring. Nine combination bathhouses throughout the campground provide flush toilets and coin-operated hot showers. The Camp Store near the entrance features a pizza restaurant with beer and wine service overlooking the ocean, a general store with ice and firewood, and a beach equipment rental program. A dump station serves RV campers. Beach access is available via stairways leading down from the bluffs to the sandy shore below. The campground operates year-round via ReserveCalifornia. During peak season (March through November), stays are limited to 7 consecutive nights; during the off-season (December through February), the limit extends to 14 nights. Check-in is at 2:00 PM with no early check-in available. Dogs are permitted in the campground but are not allowed on the beach.
