About
Silver Crown campground occupies a prime location within Curt Gowdy State Park, straddling the boundary between Laramie and Albany counties at 7,254 feet elevation. The park's three reservoirs offer excellent fishing for rainbow trout, kokanee salmon, and brown trout, along with non-motorized boating on Crystal and North Crow reservoirs and motorized access at Granite Reservoir. The campground features established sites with fire rings, grills, tables, and parking spurs. Electric hookups are available for an additional fee. Vault toilets serve the campground area, while the visitor center provides flush toilets and shower facilities. The visitor center, open Wednesday through Monday, also houses exhibits about the park's history and ecology. Curt Gowdy State Park offers extensive trail systems for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding, with the Aspen Grove area providing access to a free public horse corral. An archery range and wildlife viewing opportunities round out the recreational options. The historic Hynds Lodge, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is available for group rentals.
