Jerre's Haven
Currently open on a first-come, first-serve basis. Starting May 15, 2026, reservations are required through September 30. Water is currently on for 2026. The camp store is closed for the season.
Special Weather Statement issued May 13 at 12:29PM MDT by NWS Cheyenne WY
A zonal flow pattern over southeast Wyoming will lead to strong winds on both Thursday and Friday. Wind gusts in excess of 45 MPH are expected on Thursday and 35 MPH on Friday. A dry airmass in place both days will lead to relative humidity values below 10 percent. Overnight humidity recoveries Wednesday and Thursday night will also be poor. The combination of wind and extremely dry conditions will lead to increased fire danger. However, given recent moisture and green up of vegetation across the area, fuels are currently non-critical. Despite this, outdoor burning is still not recommended given the conditions on Thursday and Friday. Use caution, don't be the spark!
About
Jerre's Haven is one of the newer campgrounds at Curt Gowdy State Park, situated at 7,165 feet elevation between Cheyenne and Laramie in southeastern Wyoming. The campground features 13 sites with electrical hookups designed for RVs and trailers, plus 4 walk-in tent sites offering a backcountry-type experience. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring with grill, with views overlooking Granite Reservoir. The location provides convenient access to the park's premier attractions. The Aspen Grove trailhead connects campers to over 41 miles of IMBA Epic-designated trails for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. The park's three reservoirs, Granite, Crystal, and North Crow, offer fishing opportunities and various water sports. The nearby camp store and visitor center provide additional services when open. Curt Gowdy State Park operates year-round with seasonal reservation requirements. Flush toilets and showers are available at the visitor center year-round. Note that the park does not have an on-site dump station; the nearest options are the Southeast Wyoming Welcome Center in Cheyenne (free, 24-hour) or Wyoming Territorial Prison near Laramie.
Directions
From Cheyenne, head west on Happy Jack Road (WY-210) for approximately 24 miles. The park entrance is on the left.
