Causeway Campground is situated within Curt Gowdy State Park, positioned along the reservoir in the scenic foothills of the Laramie Mountains. Located just 24 miles from both Cheyenne and Laramie via State Route 210, the park offers year-round camping access. The campground provides convenient access to the park's three reservoirs where visitors can fish for rainbow trout, brown trout, and kokanee salmon, or enjoy boating and water sports. Mountain bikers will find IMBA-certified trails throughout the park, while hikers can explore terrain ranging from low-lying meadows to massive granite formations. The area features richly varied landscape with abundant wildlife viewing opportunities. Campsites include standard amenities with both electric and non-electric options available throughout the park. The park's visitor center provides showers and flush toilets year-round, even when campground water systems are winterized. Pets are welcome, and the location near the intersection of I-80 and I-25 makes it an accessible destination for travelers and outdoor enthusiasts.
Directions
From Cheyenne or Laramie, take State Route 210 (Happy Jack Road) to Granite Springs Road. The park is located 24 miles west of Cheyenne and 24 miles east of Laramie.
